No,the FONT file from windows 2000 can't use,the redhat8.0 chinese version have the font file.You can press Alt+Space to change the input Way to chinese

你得用中文内核，才能输入中文，否则，就象我原来一样，只能看，不能输入；
在language的设置中选simple chinese，
不过说实话，redhat的汉化很难看的，还是english 版用的比较舒服

you can use the font(ttf) from MS Windows, but you need transforn it use the tools.
you can use chinput and xsim.. to input chinese.

windows底下的字体是可以在linux底下使用的，这种事情我干过，所以敢这么说，把windows
底下的字体文件拷到linux底下相应目录，并改变一下后缀，然后需要更改一下字体配置文件，并改成中文环境就可以了

你说的那是ttf, 你的输入不一定跟这个有关系.
